Straight Outta Compton’s Success Could Yield a Def Jam Biopic

With the success of Straight Outta Compton may start a trend of Biopic’s coming out and we may get one sooner than later from Def Jam.

According to Deadline, the movie studio wants to dive into the history of Def Jam Recordings and its co-founder Russell Simmons. Simmons can by all means be considered the godfather of East Coast hip-hop.  With his help you may get biopics from  LL Cool J, the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, EPMD and Jay Z. Now do you really think Jay Z would tell his story… But word is that the Def Jam biopic would be based on 2002’s Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, co-written by Simmons and Nelson George. So keep your figures cross on seeing another one of your fav’s that you normally wouldn’t see on the big screen.
